The Best of 2012

So long 2012!

My husband just told me 2012 was the most catastrophic year in history! Most people would freak out by the sound of that, but me, I PRAISE JESUS!!!!! It's just a sign of the end of times to come...

Read it for yourselves it's not surprise...The Bible clearly says:

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come....Matthew 24:6

There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven...Luke 21:11

Don't fret, there is nothing to be afraid of only rejoicing in knowing our LORD JESUS is coming and taking us HOME!!! Are you ready? I sure am!

Anyway, I thought it was appropriate to post my favorite pictures of the year because this is what blessings are to me; family, friends and God's creation! No matter what is going on in the world, the LORD has it all under control...Embrace your life and loved ones and most of all, live for JESUS in all you do!

I guess it's not my last post for my 365 project...

Remember I mentioned I took pictures of my friends' familes?  Here is another amazing family...Each one unique yet all of them are so sweet! It was difficult because my awesome friend is not the type that likes the standard family pose...She wanted it to be creative, yet chaotic, yet natural, yet fun, yet I'm not any of those things, yet! You know what I'm talking about...Those amazing family portraits were the shot is just perfect yet it's not so "set-up"....Well, this is what I ended up with...I'm scheduling myself to get this shot for her not matter how long it takes...Dang, I pray they can put up with me...I need to get better!

Wow, I can't believe the end of the year is here already...Well, as far as my 365 Project, this will be my last post for the year 2012...I'm not quite sure what I am going to do for next year, but it will be something...What I've been doing lately are family portraits...

This family here is awesome! All the husband wanted to do was "make out" with his wife...LOL...He's a crack up even when his boys didn't want to cooperate...I love the family photo posted because really this is everyone's personality...My sweet friend just went along with her husband always wanting to make out in every photo, their daughter on the left was like, "come on", their daughter to the right always sweet and smiling and then, the boys! Well, they speak for themselves...Still so sweet...Love you guys!

Haven't posted for a while....AGAIN! My BFF sometimes asks me if I have a blog...Ha! Trying to get better at posting ...Maybe someone can give me tips on how to post daily! Anyway, I just wanted to share my family photo for this awesome Christmas season...I took them myself...I think they are pretty good for someone who doesn't know what they are doing...Ha!

Then I went ahead and took my boys' school pictures for the year...Funny thing, I took so many in different spots and soon as I took these 2 of my boys I knew it was the shot...So stinking handsome!

BOKEH Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of these are SOOC, I promise....KIM!!! I went outside tonight with my tripod to practice some nighttime shots...This is what I got...I came inside trying to focus on an object and get the bokeh in the background, and this is what I got...The problem I am having is outside...I couldn't focus on an object like my inside picture and get the bokeh in the background...The outside pictures I took in manual and manual focus...The only reason the outside pictures look decent is because it's just bokeh and not an object with bokeh in the background....Make sense?  Suggestions?

I'm going to do some night time pictures with my girl Carrie (She is not a new friend-I've known her for years...She rocks!!) on Wednesday night so we need some tips...Well I do...Ha!

So apparently the photo before this one, had pink teeth...I had strong feelings about her teeth NOT being PINK!!!! But, I KNOW my BFF wouldn't lie to me...I don't see pink, people IIII showed didn't see pink, but apparently the comments from other followers agree they are pink...Sooo, you know what I say about that-PINK, STINK, WINK...Let's move on...Hahahaha!!!

If you would like to comment and critique the photo below, I would LOVEEEE feed back, but I want to hear nothing about the word PINK!!! Got it! Ha!

I do have to say this shot is pretty good!!

Don't you think? And if not, then you need to leave a comment and tell me what I don't see...I really want to know...

Remember, I'm from New York I can handle it...

It can't be that I'm 21 pictures behind...But, I am...No, I did not make a mistake with the numbers on my post...I know it shows I should be posting 21 pictures, so cut me some slack...KIM!!!!  I'm hoping with all of this slacking I'm doing I can get MY family photos done...I'm working on it, it's on the calendar for Monday...We'll see!

I took these pictures today of this awesome, awesome, awesome family...They allowed me the privilage to take their photo...They kinda didn't have a choice...I've had a birthday project going on for myself...Basically, instead of me receiving any sort of gift, I've been going around doing things for other people...Anyways, this fab family asked if I could take their pictures as part of helping me fulfill my project...My dear friend Carrie, (the beautiful mommy in the picture) takes amazing pictures...I don't know what she sees in me...I actually used her camera and her lens...The only thing I did was put HER camera on MY tripod and hit the shutter button...Ha! I did shoot in manual...I'm not boasting at all!!

I have to say I'm pretty happy with them...It also helps that this family is, BEAUTIFUL!!!!! And, super fun...The teen hottie is my new running partner...She looks pretty danty and delicate in the photo, but don't let her fool you-she kicks my butt and makes me work for my runs!

So here it is, hope you like!

I'm rethinking this 365 day project, cause, well, it kinda keeps me on my toes...I'm afraid if I don't do it I won't post pictures...Then if I do it, and post everyday,  I hesitate to post random pictures so it won't cause any confusion to the number for the day...But really, do people pay attention to the numbers I post...I think not...

For 2 months I waited for this event...I talked and talked about it...I promoted it telling friends and family  how awesome the glow show was going to be...How fun it will be to watch hot air balloons glow high up in the sky...My camera was ready, I was ready, my boy's were ready...And then, it comes...But, not what I expected or hoped for....It was kinda lame....I was expecting the balloons to light up and float off into the sky looking beautiful....Welp, the balloons never left the ground...Ha!

People were packed around the balloons waiting for them to take off...Instead they filled up the balloons and  just stood there looking pretty....They had them glowing to a 1-2-3 song and randomly each balloon would light up...I couldn't for the life of me get my camera to work....I so wanted to shoot in manual, but couldn't get my camera to take the shot...I put it in automatic and still had trouble...I found myself pushing down on the shutter button thinking if I press hard enough it will shoot...I saw tons of photographers with their "big" cameras and lenses along with their tripod...I knew a slow shutter was required for the best shot, but I had 4 kids and a baby in the stroller...Gimme a break!

Anyway, the night was awesome...I ended up meeting with an awesome family and we both knew the guy who coordinated this event...He gave all of us free tickets for the carnival rides...Huge blessing...The kids had fun and so did I...

I love taking pictures in manual...It challenges me for sure! I think I'm doing OK, though...Lots of room for improvement...These are not my favorite shots, but thought they were cool enough to post...

These pictures were taken yesterday with my family...My husband and I celebrated our 11 year anniversary...Yay! I love him...We went to church, then lunch and headed over a place that had the Civil War reenactment...The day was awesome, even though we did end up missing the reenactment...Ha! I pumped my kids up for weeks about it, but got the times mixed up... When we arrived, the people were packing up shop...So we headed over to a beautiful lake called Lake Harriott...Despite the mix up, we still have a blast, as always....

Next week, date night celebration with just the hubby...

The next shots are the only thing left at the civil war, so we took advantage...Ha!

Catchin up...Not doing to bad...Only 5 photos behind...

Good times, good times...We had a "Minute To Win It" game for the kids in the home school group...Definitely, not put together my me...These moms make it happen...They are a true blessing...It's a lot of work...

This first one is a crack up...My son, the great sport he is was in a group with all girls...He doesn't even blink an eye...Apparently, he knows nothing about pantyhose with control top...LOL...The idea of this particular game was to put the pantyhose on your head like my Bella-girl on the right...Inside the leg of the pantyhose was a softball...You had to use your head to swing the softball back and forth so that you could knock over the water bottles in a "minute"...

Everyone got a kick out of my son, the thief!

My son is such a goofball...

    Just a fun photo...

     Need I say more...

My first photo shoot of "The Vesely Bunch"

And, they actually liked the photos enough to put them in frames...My BFF's husband has a lot of talent and to hear that he liked them was really a compliment! He's not difficult by any means, just has a good eye...I'm pretty happy with them for my first time...

I do see other photographers photos and I know mine look nothing like theirs, but I really want them to...I guess I just have to keep practicing, research and maybe be able to afford a class some day...Who knows?  All I know is they seemed to be happy, and that's all that matters...And no, I won't charge, ever! Probably because I ain't that good...Ha!

Happy Birthday to my sweet friend!

Let me tell you about my friend Denise....

First, she LOVES Jesus so much that it is contagious!!!!  When you hang around her for a minute she will make you feel so loved and accepted.  I mean really, everyone needs a friend like Denise!

She loves her family so much!  Her boys know Jesus because she shows them Jesus by LOVE!!!

Denise is the real deal!  She never-EVER beats around the bush!  She will be honest and loving to a fault!

Denise serves and loves the unloveable!  She will stop the car and give someone her last dollar.  Why?  Because they need it more than she does and that is how you show people Jesus.

Denise has known the Lord for about 7 years and has grown leaps and bounds.  I love to see her growth and she challenges me to be a better momma, wife and follower of Jesus!

    I love you Denise!
    Happy Birthday!

She is all this because of Jesus!  She would want me to say this : )

    Love your best friend foreva!

So I'm a copy catta! Whateva! After hearing about my girl Kim taking pictures of HER girl, it inspired me to shoot at the same time of day she was(5pm-ish pacific time)...As I mentioned, I've been trying to shoot in manual, and so I did...The pictures of my silly boy (this truly captures his personality) are all SOOC...Ok, Kim?  I didn't even whiten his teeth this time...I just did the collage, is that still a SOOC?

The picture below is the copy catta one...Again, my girl Kim inspired me, so I copy catta her pictures of tree stumps because this is the only thing in my backyard worth taking pictures of...My husband is allergic to EVERYTHING and wants to concrete the back and the front yard...Do I hear storefront? Anyway, I know it's weird, but I do pick my battles...I'm thankful this "concrete" work is expensive and it will be sometime before we can afford to do that...MWHA-AH-AH-AH!!!
