Homeschool

Another year down and 10 more years to go!  Yay!

Yes folks...2011...New resolutions, new motivations, new habits, new beginnings, right? Right? Oh, how I pray I'm more diligent this year...So, here is an update on my goals for the rest of this home schooling year...
#1-To not be in a rush to get school over with...I don't know what my problem is...I don't have any major struggles with school, yet, and I feel myself rushing through it to get it done...Do I want to create a struggle?  I did it today, because I wanted to be about my Father’s business...   There were a few different ministry opportunities to either disciple, encourage, and fellowship today…It was an amazing day of discussing GOD'S Word...I felt inspired, lifted up, blessed, in awe, and down-right filled with the HOLY SPIRIT...What's wrong with that, right?   Nothing, nothing at all...But I didn't give my kids the quality time they needed today....I'm Ms. Denise in school...(They really don't call me that) I wasn't mommy enough today... When it was time to put them to bed I felt sad…If it wasn’t for our routine of what we call “time spend”, I would have really been depressed…They are so sweet and I praise the LORD for our “time spend.”  I will share what that looks like one day…
#2-Another home school goal is to be more hands on...When I pick curriculum out, I find myself getting excited about doing the suggested projects...I visualize myself and my kids doing all these fun intricate projects, but I seem to be in too much of a rush to do any of them...I do admit, I did start out pretty good in the beginning of the year, and took advantage of some projects...The boys loved it...I loved it..To be sitting there and working with them on things of their interests makes school a lot more enjoyable...And that is something I was talking about to a friend...I want them to enjoy going into our school room...So how is that suppose to happen?  Me, me, me….     Me making it enjoyable, me making it fun, me pushing them to do the fun stuff…

I have more to share, but it’s late…I just wanted to get this up so that I can start being accountable…

I don't know what I am doing...I want to be able to keep my home school post on this home school page, but I can't figure it out!! I already typed something up and it disappeared...Hope this one doesn't diappear...If someone can help me with just posting home school thoughts on my home school page, I would love the help....

Anyway, as I was saying....Our home school days have not been as consistent since the end of September....The family and I went on an overnight canoe trip, amazing...I can't wait to do it again...Then 2 weeks later we went on the Utah trip with the home school group, amazing...When I get out of routine, it's challenging to get back into the swing of things...
This weekend was a good start...Oh, sorry I forgot to mention we home school Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Monday's and lil bit on Tuesdays...This is all in honor of my husbands request...He works on those days, has of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and wants it all to be about family time....It truly is a blessing, but it is challenging not to make plans on his days off....I do covet the time together, and love to watch my husband be the best dad eva!
So school went awesome today...We got everything done and more...I know this post is not as dramatic as my others posts have been, but don't worry it will come...Today was especially sweet watching my boy write his "P" like a 9  and his "7" like an upside down "L"
Annnooyyying.....They both got an A+ on their "pre-test" for spelling, I bet at the end of the week it will be different....Why, why, why?????

This page will hopefully be a page that I can give "amateur" (did I spell that right? LOL) advice on my homeschooling ideas...Don't take it too seriously, this page is more for entertainment purposes...Remember I'm someone who really does not know much about homeschooling because I am only in 3rd grade :-/

No really, I'm going to be raw & transparent, as a friend once told me I am...So kick back and laugh at me all you want...Maybe you can help me out!
